What are Bold Beanies and why are they so special?
Posted by Emilienne Rebel on
So comfortable you will forget you are wearing it. Natural, Breathable, temperature controlling UV protective as well as stylish.
Bold Beanies Cancer Chemo Hats were designed by Emilienne after she lost her hair with chemotherapy treatment for Stage 3 advanced Breast Cancer at a young age. She found her bald head very cold, particularly at night time.
Losing your hair suddenly makes you feel extra cold. Emilienne wore woollen beanies mostly but they were itchy and would get too hot and so she would take it off and then of course she'd get cold again... disturbing an already difficult night's sleep. The sheer relief from wearing a soft comfy breathable beanie that fit snuggly so was less prone to slipping around (as head scarves do, especially in bed) is felt by many. Perfect for day wear to feel less conscious of your hair-loss Alopecia and just get on with your day with one less thing to worry about.
It was important for her to stay covered up for her family as she looked very ill and thats when she realised the need for Bold Beanies. A hat with minimal seams, especially over pressure points and no extra irritants, like labels.
Bold Beanies hats sleep cap beanys bonnets skull caps... however you choose to describe them are silky soft stretchy cotton and so very comfortable you will forget you are wearing them, but with beautiful Liberty Fabric prints or fun prints (as well as a rainbow of plain colours ) you won't have to. Styles to suit everyone and at an affordable price.

Liberty Print Head Scarves

See our new range of Liberty Head Scarves online now. Which Iconic Liberty print double-sided headscarf (with a reversible plain cotton co-ordinating side) will be your favourite?
Are you having difficulty tying a head scarf? Don't have anyone to help you tie one and need to tie your headwear on your own? Have had breast or lymph node surgery or radiotherapy and can't hold your arms up above your head for very long? Well, we've taken the difficulty out of it!
I really struggled to tie head scarves when I lost my hair during treatment for stage 3 advanced Breast Cancer and had had lots of different surgeries. I've designed these new headscarves to be super easy to tie. Made using the highest quality softest, stretchiest cotton jersey material, they are already cut to a triangle shape and so just need to be tied once either at the back of the neck or the side, whichever you prefer.
Not just for cancer or alopecia hair loss, our range of Liberty Head Scarves can be worn by any woman with or without hair! They are super soft and comfy and fit snuggly on the head and don't slip around like other scarves, due to the nature of the fabric.

Liberty Art Fabrics - Why are Liberty Print Cancer hats & scarves so special?
Posted by Emilienne Rebel on
I'm so proud to offer my Bold Beanies headwear in such beautiful quality Liberty prints. Simple, easy to wear and immaculately constructed cancer beanies, headscarves, head wraps and PICC covers made using these wonderful and uplifting prints from Liberty of London so quintessential British & with quintessential quirkiness.
As one of the best-known department stores in the UK, Liberty London offers a diverse range of products, but one of their staple products & absolute best sellers are their fabrics – specifically their cotton prints. Not surprising, then, is that the founder of Liberty London has his roots in fabric and Liberty has a great tradition and history spanning a period of over 80 years.
In the 1920s, Liberty began to produce miniature floral, paisley & abstract prints that became known as ‘Liberty Prints’ and the rest, as far as I am concerned, is history.
Englishman Arthur Lasenby Liberty began his career as an apprentice for a draper. He then took on a job at Farmer & Roger’s Great Shawl and Cloak Emporium – a position that set him on course of his life’s work. After ten years of work there, learning about textiles & other arts, he decided to branch out and open his own business in 1875, named ‘East India House’ where he solely sold Oriental imports – namely rugs, decorative objects and…fabrics!
In 1875 a small shop opened in Regent Street London called Liberty & Co. This was the dream of an Englishman Arthur Liberty, a man of great vision and artistic skills who until his death in 1917 played a leading part in the growth and achievements of a wonderful department store.
Arthur Liberty spent many years travelling to Eastern parts of the world gaining inspiration for the development of his store and he would bring home beautiful rugs and fabrics from these countries. He involved William Morris and other famous artists of the 19th century in the designing of rugs and materials. Some of these early designs are still used today.
